Simon's Tribute Simon Milosz Dewey Born c1974 Died December 8, 1997 December 9, 1997... It is with very, very sad hearts we say that Simon Milosz Dewey, age 23, was laid to rest at dawn early this morning. Simon, our oldest, had only just one month earlier passed his semi-annual check up at the vet with good results (considering his age -- the equivalent of over 100 years old in “human years” -- and having Chronic Renal Failure -- a degenerative kidney disease). Simon sustained a fractured leg this past weekend, however. While first diagnosed as a minor torn ligament, a follow up visit on Monday proved otherwise. X-rays clearly showed the break. Considering his age and the nature of the break, surgery was ruled out. The only choice to eliminate the tremendous amount of pain he was now suffering was to put him to rest. Simon left our Earth at 6:25pm on Monday evening, 12/8/97, with Debbie and Paul at his side. Simon was one wonderful ol’ boy. Debbie’s sister, Barb, found him by the road back in 1978 while she was attending college in Pennsylvania. Later in his life Simon moved in with her mother and step-father in Pittsford. When her step-father moved to Victor after Debbie’s mother passed away, Simon went with him. It was in early 1995 that we took him into our home to live out his twilight years in comfort and among those who truly loved him. He’s been a part of our lives for almost a quarter of a century, though. What a sweet, lovable boy he was. Simon had a way of meowing that one would swear he was saying, ''Mom''. He loved to eat his baby food, climb up and snooze in his cat napper by the window, soak up rays on sunny days and just snuggle up close. His eyes twinkled like no others. He gave unconditional love and affection while rarely demanding much in return. One could not ask for a better companion. We miss him dearly. Simon was laid to rest next to our Lucy Belle (passed on 10/25/97) and our Sunshine (passed on 12/4/96). They now are our three Little Angels in Heaven above. Peace be with you now, Simon. We love you, Si-Si... Simon Milosz Dewey c1974-1997 Our Angels are now at Rush Inter Pet Cemetery Back to Homepage
