Cobra Dewey
born: May 2000
Cobra is 7 years old. She came from a colony of feral cats and kittens that had been living in a dumpster in the city. All we adopted through the local cat shelter -- except Cobra and Maxine. The two of them remained at the shelter for two years, when we agreed to give them a loving home. In just a few short months here we can now pet her and she sleeps at our feet. She is one beautifully-marked and very sweet girl!

Cody Dewey
September 1, 1990 to January 17, 2005
Cody turned 14 years old September 1, 2004. She and her sister, Winona, came to us for foster care. They felt our love for senior cats and it wasn't long after that we adopted them into our family. Cody was a sweet snuggle puss. She loved Debbie's lap! Just after Christmas 2004, only weeks after losing our Smokey, we lost Cody to cancer (tumors in her lungs). She went to Heaven peacefully in Paul's arms on a cold and blustery Monday afternoon.

Isis Dewey
January 8, 1997 to November 12, 2001
Isis was only 4 years old when we lost her. She was adopted from a local cat shelter. She was a feral and spent her first three years at the shelter. She had a bond with Paul and that bond continued to grow with both Paul and Debbie when she came home with us. With daily attention she was slowly coming to learn that humans were her friends. In August of 2001 Isis was diagnosed with chronic renal failure, apparently born with bad kidneys. We gave her tons of TLC and cherished each day remaining with our Isis... sadly, she lost her battle after just three months. I will miss my Little Sweetheart Isis.

Katie Dewey
June 1988 to June 11, 2003
Katie came to our home in June 2001 at the age of 13. We adopted her because it appeared no one else wanted her. Katie's had a tough life to date. She broke her left front leg at an early age and it was never repaired. Also sometime during her life some humans decided to declaw her front paws. Two nasty strikes against her --- and she still was a very forgiving, loveable doll! We lost Katie to kidney failure, she's at rest now with her brothers and sisters that went before her.

Lionel Dewey
April 1997 to January 14, 2003
Lionel was almost 16 years old when we lost her to cancer. She was adopted as a kitten in 1987. We were told he was a boy, hence the name -- but at time of neuter it was discovered in fact he was a she. Lionel absolutely loved to have her back scratched, and only meowed when riding to and from the vets. We'd slip up now and then and call her a he, but Lionel always seemed to understand.

Lucy Belle Dewey
April 1979 to October 25, 1997
Lucy Belle was taken in off the streets when she was 8 weeks old in 1979. She was to be a companion for Charlie Brown. The tie between them was immediate and long-lasting. Lucy took to Paul and became his girl. Lucy was our first hyperthyroid cat. We lost her to kidney failure at the age of 17.

Maxine Dewey
born: May 2000
Hard to believe, but Maxine is now 7 years old. She came from a colony of feral cats and kittens that had been living in a dumpster in the city. All we adopted through the local cat shelter -- except Cobra and Maxine. The two of them remained at the shelter for two years, when we agreed to give them a loving home. Maxine is still very shy, but she'll curl up on the sofa once in a while and she gets very friendly at dinner time. She loves Foster W, now, too.

Missy Dewey
born: January 1995
Missy is 12 years old. She was rescued from a co-worker in an abused and abandoned situation. It's taken her four years to overcome the trauma. As it is now, she still has misplaced aggression and may never be "normal"... but she is a love.

For there ages they were the most active in the bunch. Nel loved to climb her floor-to-ceiling carpeted pole and catch moths and flies. Nel was hyperthyroid. We lost her this past March to apparent kidney failure.

No Name Girl
?? to September 28, 2001
We have no picture of this sweet little girl. She didn't even have time to get a name. She was a stray a dear friend had taken in. We promised her a home, but God had other intentions. This girl passed away minutes after being spayed. The doctors believe she had a defective heart. We believe she had a heart of gold, and she's with our Little Angels now in Heaven.

Ruthie Sherwood Dewey
February 2, 1996 to October 30, 2001
Ruthie Sherwood dropped into our lives on the very day we were to bring a new little girl home (see above). Ruthie was a Hearthside Cats girl rescued from the county humane society. It was love at first sight. We named her Ruthie in honor of our dear friend who had found the little female stray we were going to adopt before she suddenly passed away. Ruthie had lymphoma, and the doctors felt it'd spread too much throughout her body. Just 31 days after coming home with us, she lost her battle against the cancer. We cherished our short time with Ruthie, our beautiful new addition to the family. She was a love, snuggling and purring away.

Salt Dewey
born: March 1989 to January 11, 2006
Salt was 15 years old, adopted in May 2001 from Hearthside Cats. She is a beautiful pure white kitty. Salt was abandoned when her original owner moved away. She recently had a lesion removed from her eyelid. A biopsy confirmed cancer but the doctors believe they removed it all. It was just a short time later, however, that yet another form of cancer took her away from us. We will always love you, Salt!

Smokey Dewey
June 1990 to December 30, 2004
Smokey was adopted from the local animal shelter in 1990 when she was just 6 months old. Debbie got her for Paul's birthday. At 14 she still was the size of a large kitten. Her size, her appetite and even her meow were all petite, but she had a heart the size of Texas. She loved her feline brothers and sisters and she loved sleeping along side of Paul at night. After 15 Christmases together, Smokey went to Heaven on December 30, 2004 after a very short battle with cancer.

Sunshine Dewey
April 1979 to December 4, 1996
Sunshine was taken into our home back in 1979 when another family member could no longer keep her. She was without a doubt the most beautiful black and white long hair cat we've ever seen. She was a princess at times and enjoyed things on her terms, but she was a sweetheart. We lost her to cancer in 1996. Our retirement home bears her name.

Sweet Pea Dewey
born: April 2002
Sweet Pea is 5 years old. She was found wandering the city streets by a friend of ours. We took her in and she's called this place home from day 1! She loves to play, loves to snuggle on your lap and loves all the other cats in the house.

Winona Dewey
September 1, 1990 to March 15, 2006
Winona and her sister, Cody, came us for foster care after their human abandoned them. They felt our love for senior cats and it wasn't long after that we adopted them into our family. Winona was a diabetic and like Nelson, she got a twice-daily dose of insulin to help manage it. She was a cranky ol' gal at times but deep down inside she loved to be loved! We lost her in renal failure.
